Our Best Make-Ahead Christmas Recipes

Party Food that’s Practical, Too!

Here are our holiday recipes that can be prepared days, even weeks in advance. Some can be made and frozen; others need resting time. All of them are absolutely delicious! Maple saves time for you to celebrate!

Dried Maple Duck Breast

This original starter dish needs to rest in the fridge for three to four weeks. Perfect for New Year’s Eve, all you do on the big night is slice thinly and sprinkle with maple sugar or flakes. Serve with fruit and cheese.

Maple Cheese-Stuffed Turkey Meatballs

Prep this original recipe up to a month ahead and freeze. When your guests are on their way, transfer the turkey meatballs directly from the freezer to the oven. All that’s left to do is make the tomato sauce.

Moist Fruit, Nut and Maple Cake

Our favourite fruitcake recipe must be prepared at least two weeks ahead to allow its exquisite flavours to develop. And we have another trick up our sleeves for this holiday classic: you can bake the cakes in maple syrup cans! They make great gifts … if they don’t all get eaten up at home!

Sortilège Panforte with Maple Flakes

Meant to exploit their weakness for chocolate (it’s the holidays, right?), this dessert skilfully blends luscious maple cream and crunchy nuts with dark chocolate. Prepare a few days ahead, then sprinkle with maple flakes, and serve. They’re going to love it!

Baked Maple Doughnuts

You rarely see a make-ahead recipe for doughnuts but ours freeze with no sacrifice in taste. Pull them out, warm them up, and enjoy them as a special home-made holiday treat!

Maple-Citrus Vodka with Rosemary

Make this special vodka with lemon, orange, maple syrup, and rosemary three weeks before you plan to serve it. Keeps in the fridge for one month. You can also use it to make a refreshing granita by adding water and putting in the freezer for a few hours. Scratch with a fork and serve in little glasses.

Maple Duo Digestive

A wonderful after-dinner drink made of maple whisky, maple syrup, and clementine peels. Just combine the ingredients in a jar and leave in the fridge for two weeks. Cheers!

Cashew-Maple Cream Cordial

This could be the crowning glory of your holiday feast. Mix it up a few days before Christmas, then blend with maple liqueur just before serving in fancy glasses. Your guests will love sipping this nutty, creamy concoction after dinner or with coffee.
